I just discovered Matisyahu after hearing some of his music on the NPR program "Studio 360" . I really like it but I still don't understand why a New York musician sings in a Jamaican accent! Is it something required by the genre the way murder mysteries are supposed to happen at English country houses, and science fiction space operas have to involve ray guns? The Jamaican accent thing sounds like an artificial formula.
